Is Nantucket Open in September?
With Nantucket being so seasonal, many people think the island shuts down after August, but au contraire! The island’s outdoor activities continue week after week and we typically enjoy fantastic weather in September and early October.
Is Nantucket fun in October?

For restaurants, the Sea Grill and 56 Union claim to be open all year, and I’ve heard that the Pearl may be a year-round place, too.

November-February Temperatures hover in the 30s on average, which is warmer than the mainland, but still cold for most visitors. Despite the layer-wearing weather, the lack of crowds — when compared with the summertime kerfuffle — can be tantalizing. And most establishments are open through the holiday season, too.

While cars are allowed on Nantucket, it’s much easier to get around on foot, bike, shuttle or ride share like Uber. The island is small, parking is limited and the cost to bring your car by ferry is expensive, so we recommend walking, riding a bike or moped, or renting a car.

The beaches will be outstanding. September actually has the warmest water. It’s the best time of year in Nantucket, in my opinion. Have a great time.
